Literacy and Essential Skills Program FAQs

  • ​​How can I register for the Literacy Program?
    Drop in or call the Learning Centre nearest you.
  • What are the program hours?
    Day classes: Monday to Friday, 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
    Night classes September - June (Barrie​): Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 to 9 p.​m.

Computers for Work

Do you have the skills you need for today’s workplace?  We offer Computers for Work classes to help you build your computer and digital skills.  You will receive an introduction to internet basics, emails and attaching files, editing documents and completing online applications.  These sessions are for adults looking for work or upgrading skills for secondary school credit classes.

Do you have the soft skills employers are looking for?  We offer Soft Skills Solutions© training for adults looking for work.  The sessions include insight on what employers are looking for on a resume and in interviews as well as discussion and working through scenarios to build on teamwork, communications skills, critical thinking and problem solving.
